Puy-en-Velays is where the green Puy lentils come from. It is in the volcanic region
around Auvergne. There are ranges of extinct volcanos everywhere you look. The town
has a terific mediaeval centre, and a huge seven day medieval fair, where it seems
at least a quarter of the population wear middle ages clothes all day.
